ChatGPT Getting Ads — Is AI Headed Down the Same Road as Google?
Multiverse’s tiny AI models, China’s data center strain, HTC’s smart glasses, AI story games, Sam Altman’s Neuralink rival, and Apple’s robotic AI push.

Learn from this investor’s $100m mistake
In 2010, a Grammy-winning artist passed on investing $200K in an emerging real estate disruptor. That stake could be worth $100+ million today.
One year later, another real estate disruptor, Zillow, went public. This time, everyday investors had regrets, missing pre-IPO gains.
Now, a new real estate innovator, Pacaso – founded by a former Zillow exec – is disrupting a $1.3T market. And unlike the others, you can invest in Pacaso as a private company.
Pacaso’s co-ownership model has generated $1B+ in luxury home sales and service fees, earned $110M+ in gross profits to date, and received backing from the same VCs behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.

Selling the Answer — OpenAI Experiments With Ads in ChatGPT

What Happened
OpenAI is testing advertising inside ChatGPT, starting with small-scale trials. Users reported seeing sponsored messages embedded within responses. Nick Turley, who leads the initiative, explained on Decoder: “We’re thinking about how ads could be part of ChatGPT in a way that feels natural and helpful, not disruptive.” The company says it wants to create new revenue streams beyond subscriptions, but the move signals a shift in how AI tools may be monetized.
What It Means
For years, ChatGPT has been known as a clean, ad-free experience. Introducing sponsored content could alter how people trust and use the tool. The timing matters: OpenAI is under pressure to match revenue growth from rivals like Anthropic and Google, which are already weaving AI into ad-heavy products. One observer put it bluntly: “Every major platform eventually turns to ads. The question is whether the product gets better or worse as a result.”
What to Take Away
Advertising reshaped the early internet, turning once-free tools like search engines and social platforms into ad-funded empires. Google’s search, once prized for simplicity, has become cluttered with promotions that many feel degrade the experience. A similar arc could emerge here: AI results might be bent toward advertisers instead of users. If ChatGPT or similar tools become central to how we ask questions, the shift from “pure” answers to “sponsored” ones could redefine not only user trust, but the economics of information itself.
